HOW IT WORKS

1: Connect the dots

The dots are positioned randomly on the page inviting the entire page to be scanned for the next dot to be connected. Activity which stimulates the frontal lobe of the brain in this way has been shown to improve our powers of focus, concentration, fine motor coordination and spatial awareness.

2: Mindful Meditation

Connecting the dots is a meditative process. However, this can be enhanced by the addition of a mindful word, for example; Patience, Trust, Courage.


Ruminating upon a mindful word and its relevance in our daily lives enables the activity to become an extremely powerful platform for meditation.

3: Unleash your creativity

Our life’s journey rarely runs in a straight line. Sometimes we choose to move around obstacles, other times, we feel like we’re going round in circles. The most direct path may be the fastest, but it is not necessarily the most satisfying. So, when connecting the dots, don’t feel compelled to draw straight lines. Instead, feel free to unleash your creativity using curves, waves and even zig-zag lines.

Shade and/or colour

When you’ve connected all the dots, shade and/or colour the sections. This will help the artwork come to life and will leave you with a completely unique piece of art. The more of yourself you put into the exercise, the more the resulting artwork will speak to you.

4: Guided Self-reflection

The guided self-reflection element has been designed to help lead you to perspectives and insights about yourself.  After connecting the dots and creating the artwork, you are invited to use the image as a tool for guided self-reflection.
